Meet the Doctor – Marc Mallory, D.D.S.
Marc P. Mallory, DDS
Dr. Mallory’s family is his pride and joy. He is married to Gretchen Whitmer, the current and 49th Governor of the State of Michigan. Dr. Mallory and Governor Whitmer live in Lansing with her daughters, Sherry and Sydney. Marc’s three sons, Mason, Alex and Winston, have moved on to pursue their careers. Mason is also a dentist, Alex is a lawyer, and Winston is a dental student at the University of Michigan.
Dentistry is the Mallory family business. For 40 years Marc’s father, Dr. Sam Mallory, had his dental practice in Lansing too. Since he was 13 years old, Marc was eager to follow in his dad’s footsteps and had great experiences working in his dad’s practice in different capacities. He learned the business of family dentistry from the ground up, working as an office gopher, dental assistant and dental lab technician, throughout his schooling. He started working for his dad as a licensed dentist in 1986.
Growing up just a couple of miles from Michigan’s Capitol building, Dr. Mallory graduated from Sexton High School in 1978. He earned his Bachelors of Arts in Zoology from Michigan State University in 1982. He then attended dental school at the University of Michigan and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1986. Degrees from two of Michigan’s finest universities rounded Marc out a bit. While he’s still primarily a Spartan, he cheers for the Wolverines in any other match up!
Marc opened up his own dental practice in downtown Lansing in 1990. The friendly atmosphere and location has drawn patients from all over the Lansing metropolitan area. His office is open on state holidays and the traditional lunch hour to accommodate his patients, many of whom are state employees. It is often said that Marc’s dental team’s enthusiasm, combined with cutting edge dental techniques, makes dental visits fun.
